Novel uses for your Novelty Mug!
Novelty mugs are hugely popular gifts for all occasions, with many people having a favourite mug for enjoying their morning coffee in. But mugs can be far more than just for enjoying tea, coffee or hot chocolate in. There are many delectable desserts that can be created in the humble mug that will get your taste buds bursting. One of our favourite mug desserts at Express Mugs is Chocolate Fudge S’mores Mug cake. This will warm you up on a cold winters day and best of all it only takes 5 minutes to make. You will soon have a favourite mug for this dessert.
Ingredients:
2-3 x tablespoons of chocolate chip cookie crumbs
3 ½ x tablespoons of melted unsalted butter
2 x tablespoons of granulated sugar
1 x large egg
½ x teaspoon of vanilla extract
¼ cup flour
2 x tablespoons of cocoa powder
1/8 x teaspoon baking powder
1 ½ ounces milk chocolate
marshmallows.
To create your mug dessert:
1. Combine 3 tablespoons of melted butter and 1 ounce of chocolate in a bowl, then melt in a microwave for 20-30 seconds. Then place to one side.
2. In another bowl, combine the remaining butter and cookie crumbs and stir well. Press this mixture into the bottom of your novelty mug.
3. In a bowl, whisk the egg, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add in the flour, baking powder and cocoa, stir until the mixture becomes a thick batter. Then mix in the butter and chocolate into the batter.
4. Add half the mixture to your mug with the cookie crumbs in.
5. Add some marshmallows in to your novelty mug.
6. Add remaining batter and put in the microwave for 90 seconds
7. Add more marshmallows, you can put it back in the microwave for 10-20 seconds if you want to melt the marshmallows slightly.
